“Collaborative Research: Developing Teacher Learning Theory with Teachers and Students Animating Mathematical Concepts” is a research project supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) grant DRL # 2055419. The research seeks to learn how to teach mathematical concepts in ways that are creative, dynamic, and highly imaginative.
This project extends the concept study methodology by bringing in children’s vibrant and animated conceptions of the material world1 as opportunities for teachers to (a) mobilize mathematical concepts with students and (b) assume flexible roles as participants in the studies.
